Cranberry Casserole
This Cranberry Casserole with Apples is the perfect addition to any holiday meal. Serve it as a side dish or a dessert!
Cranberry Casserole Recipe
When the holiday season rolls around I always love making something with cranberries. I love the tart flavors and the way the whole cranberries burst when you bite into them.
Adding them to a traditional apple crisp recipe seems like a great idea. I love the way the tart cranberries pair with the sweet apples. SO yummy!
Serve it along with green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, butternut squash casserole and all your other favorite holiday dishes. If you really want to capture the flavors of fall, serve this pecan pie dip as an appetizer, this cranberry nut bread as a snack, and this caramel apple poke cake for dessert.

Can you freeze it?
You can freeze it baked or unbaked. Just thaw in the fridge. Bake as directed.
Best Way to Reheat It
You can always reheat it in the microwave but the topping will not be as crunchy. I suggest reheating in the oven at 350F until warmed through.
Turn on the broiler for the last few minutes to really get the topping crunchy.
Tips for the Best Casserole
- Use a 9×9 or 11×7 casserole dish.
- Peel and dice the apples and store in a bowl of water with lemon juice or orange juice to prevent browning.
- Want more fruit flavor, try adding some orange zest.
- I haven’t tried this with cranberry sauce.
- Substitute coconut oil for butter.
- Drizzle with a little maple syrup if having for breakfast.
- Serve it with ice cream for a wonderful dessert like this southern pineapple casserole!
